Nordic Africa Institute
The Nordic Africa Institute awards scholarships to Nordic countries through various types of grants.
i. Travel scholarship programme (30 – 40 scholars are awarded scholarships and grants)
ii. Study scholarship programme – This scholarship targets teachers and journalists.
iii. The scholarship for PhD candidates – This kind of scholarship is intended to the individuals wishing to persue PhD programmes and wishes to carry out research clusters.

Students from Sub-Saharan Africa and the Indian Ocean Islands may apply for these scholarships offered by the Australian Government. Although in most cases the programme awards scholarships through; educational institutions and other international funding sources.

Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program for South African Students
The Foundation awards various scholarships to African, and more specifically to South Africans. The ford foundation international provides advancement opportunity to the needy and outstanding individuals in their academics and their respective field of their study and leaderships.
FIP gives financial support for up to three years of formal postgraduate study to obtain a Masters or Doctoral degree. Aga Khan Foundation International Scholarship Programme
The Aga Khan Foundation International gives scholarships each year for postgraduate students from developing countries in Africa (Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Mozambique and Madagascar) that have no other ways of paying their tuition fees.
Agan khan foundation gives 50 % grants and 50% as education loan, this scholarship are awarded through a very competitive process which occurs June to July every year.
NB: No application will be considered for for short-term courses nor are applications from students who have already started their course of study.
 The main criteria to be awarded scholarship include:
· Excellent academic records,
· Genuine financial need,
· Admission to a recognized institution of higher learning and
· Thoughtful and coherent educational and career plans.

The foundation gives scholarships to students under 30 years of age and scholarship cover tuition fees and living expenses only. Half of the scholarship given is considered as a loan which should be repaid back with an interest of 5% yearly.

 Kenyatta University Scholarships
Kenyatta University, well known as KU awards various scholarships;
 OVS Scholarships - These are Scholarships for Orphans and Vulnerable Students from Kenya seeking to study undergraduate programme at Kenyatta University. A scholarship covers the full tuition fee to those who have already been admitted to KU programmes.
Criteria: Minimum C+ Mean grade in the year 2008 OR 2009 KCSE.
Scholarships for Continuing Students- These scholarships are awarded to already continuing student (10) at KU for the year beginning September 2010/2011. The scholarship will cover 25% tuition costs beginning the academic year 2010/2011 for students with proven high performance and genuine need of financial assistance. KU also offers postgraduate scholarships where 20 scholarships are awarded to cover tuition for the Masters programme.
 Internal Bursary- KU also offers internal bursaries for students already studying at Kenyatta University programmes and are awarded based on the needful.
The application forms should be collected from the Dean of Students.
Kenya Scholarship Fund 
Kenya Scholarship Fund is a US based organizations providing education scholarship to Kenyan. It major aims are to promote academic advancement to high school students and higher education.
KSF has its headquarters in Texas and a branch office in Nairobi, Kenya. Since its establishment in the year 2007kenya scholarship foundation has disburses varies scholarships to the needy students in Kenya.
